The Celtic squad looks set to undergo some changes in the upcoming transfer windows. There is no question that they need to add more proven quality to their ranks. Many fans were unimpressed with the club's strategy in the summer and their fears have been proven right since then. Most of the signings do not seem ready to contribute regularly for the Hoops and the team seems to have taken several steps back since last season, when they won the treble.

While it will be important to identify and sign the right players moving forward, it is also vital that they part ways with those who do not seem to have much of a future at Parkhead. And there are quite a few candidates in that regard.

It looks like some have been identified. As reported by Football Scotland, Benjamin Siegrist, Yuki Kobayashi, Alexandro Bernabei and James McCarthy have been told to find new clubs.

None of them appear to be in Rodgers' plans. And they were not regulars last season under the management of Ange Postecoglou either. So, parting ways might be the right step for all parties involved.

The decision to sign Siegrist as a free agent had looked like a good one. He had been impressive at Dundee United before arriving at Parkhead. But unfortunately, things have not worked out for him.

Kobayashi is another signing from the Postecoglou era. He did play some football towards the end of last season but was not impressive. And since Rodgers' arrival, he has not made a single appearance.

Bernabei became the first Argentine player in Celtic history when he was signed from Lanus. Unfortunately, the defensive side of his game is not good and it does not feel like it will work out for him at Parkhead.

The decision to sign McCarthy and hand him a long-term contract was a confusing one from the start. And it is no surprise that it has not exactly worked out for the club.
