There are quite a few positions where Celtic are expected to be looking to strengthen in the summer transfer window. One would expect left-back to be one of them. Greg Taylor is the only real option Brendan Rodgers has in that position right now and if he were to get injured, Anthony Ralston would have to fill in on the left flank. That is not ideal for a club that is looking to challenge for silverware every season and hoping to get better in Europe.

Alexandro Bernabei is another option that Celtic had at left-back. But he never was able to prove himself since moving to Glasgow and was sent out on loan to Brazilian club, SC Internacional, a few months back.

It is not believed that Bernabei has a long-term future at Celtic Park. So, the club should consider signing another left-back in the summer window.

To be honest, there have not been many rumours linking Celtic with left-backs in recent months. The majority of the focus seems to be on finding Joe Hart's replacement, with the English goalkeeper retiring at the end of the season. But that does not mean that the Hoops can afford to overlook other positions in need of reinforcements.

Owen Dodgson has been suggested as a potential option for clubs like Celtic and the Rangers. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Tam McManus said on PLZ Soccer:

"I like the boy Dodgson, the left-back. I think he’s on loan from Burnley. I think he’s excellent excellent; I think Celtic and Rangers should be looking at him. In the two games I’ve seen him, against both Celtic and Rangers, I thought he was really, really good."

Dodgson is a Burnley player but he has only made a single appearance for the English club so far in his career. He currently finds himself on loan at Dundee FC.

Dodgson joined the club back in January and has been getting some decent playing time lately, and seemingly impressing with his displays. It remains to be seen whether Celtic consider a move for him in the future.
