Celtic in talks with two players and have made offers
Celtic have not been great when it comes to signing players over the last couple of seasons. They have got the recruitment wrong more often than not and barely any of the fresh faces have made a major impact on the team. One aspect that the club do deserve a lot of praise for though is their ability to agree extensions with those already at the club.
Celtic have handed out contract extensions left, right and centre. Now, that does not mean that those who have signed new deals won't be leaving in the near future.
But it does put the club in a stronger position, when players have years left on their deals. So, when the inevitable exits do happen, they can bring in higher transfer fees than they would have if contracts were running down.
It looks like Celtic are looking to hand contract extensions to two more of their players. But there has not been much progress in that regard despite offers already being made.
Celtic in talks with two players and have made offers
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic remain in talks with Liam Scales and Rocco Vata over new deals. Offers are on the table for both but neither is any closer to an agreement at this point in time.
It is not hard to understand why Vata might not be keen to sign a new deal with Celtic. He has barely gotten any playing time this season and there are believed to be several clubs across Europe interested in the B Team standout.
The same cannot be said about Scales' situation though. He has been a regular starter for Celtic under the management of Brendan Rodgers and there have not been rumours linking him with too many top teams. So, one has to wonder why an extension has not been agreed until now.
