Celtic in talks to sign £15 million player on loan with option
A number of Celtic players could still leave the club before the summer transfer window closes. One player whose future at Parkhead is clouded in uncertainty is arguably the Hoops' best player, Matt O'Riley. The Danish international was superb last season and has been fantastic in the ongoing pre-season as well, as Brendan Rodgers' side have gotten wins over teams like Manchester City and Chelsea.
Speaking of Manchester City, it looks like one of their former players could end up at Celtic Park this summer. But the move would see O'Riley head in the opposite direction.
As tweeted by Jack Rosser, at Southampton, talks are continuing on O'Riley. Shea Charles going the other way to Celtic on loan with an option is being discussed.
Southampton signed Charles from Manchester City for a transfer fee that could rise up to £15 million. But it looks like the English club are willing to part ways with the midfielder, if it would see O'Riley arrive.

Of course, it could be difficult for Celtic to convince O'Riley to remain at the club beyond this transfer window. He is being linked with clubs across England, as well as the likes of Juventus, Atalanta, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid.
In fact, Celtic were believed to have turned down an offer from Atletico Madrid to sign O'Riley in the winter. It is hard to imagine that the player would be willing to let that kind of an opportunity slip once again although he is said to be happy at Parkhead.
Charles is a talent for sure but he is nowhere near the level of O'Riley right now. He was in-and-out of the starting XI at Southampton last season. Also, the 20-year-old is a defensive midfielder while the Danish international is arguably Celtic's most effective player in terms of goals and assists.
