The upcoming summer transfer window is going to be an interesting one for Celtic. There is no question that the club need to strengthen the squad significantly after what has been a disappointing campaign by their standards, although they could still potentially win a league and cup double if they finish strong.

At the same time, Celtic also need to make sure that they keep their best players. A few of them are potential candidates for summer exits.

Nobody has been linked with a Parkhead exit more heavily than Matt O'Riley in recent months. The Danish international even was on the receiving end of an offer to join Atletico Madrid in the winter but Celtic were not ready to part ways. There is expected to be quite a bit of interest in his signature when the summer transfer window opens.

For now, O'Riley seems to be focused on the job at hand but he has not ruled out a summer exit either. As reported by Tipsbladet, he said:

"We have to see what happens."

O'Riley is enjoying the best season of his career right now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists in 39 appearances so far.

O'Riley has received some criticism for his form after the winter break but he has been decent over the past few games, and seems to be rediscovering his mojo again. Hopefully, he can finish the campaign strong and help Celtic win some silverware.

It will be very difficult for Celtic to keep O'Riley at the club beyond this season. It is not often that clubs like Atletico Madrid come calling. And Inter Milan, as well as several other Premier League teams have also been linked with the Danish international. It is only a matter of time before he heads for the exit.
