Celtic will have a lot of confidence heading into the weekend away trip to Perth to take on St Johnstone. Of course, it could prove to be a tricky contest for Brendan Rodgers' side but at the same time, one cannot overlook the fact that the Hoops have won all eight of their games this season so far. They will be hoping to make it nine out of nine against a team that is struggling at the moment.

Celtic look set to be without one of their key players on the day though. Cameron Carter-Vickers has had his fitness issues over the past few seasons.

His start to the campaign has been shaky in terms of fitness once again. And it looks like he did not take part in training ahead of the trip to St Johnstone.

Sky Sports Scotland put out the video on their account. But there is some positive news as well, as Alistair Johnston is back.

Carter-Vickers is widely recognised as the best defender that Celtic have at this point in time and for good reason as well. The American international is excellent when he is fit and on top of his game.

Unfortunately, he has frequently been injured over the past few years. And his unavailability has become a problem for the Hoops.

We saw their performance against Falkirk at the weekend. They seemed to struggle against the Championship side and ended up giving away two goals in the first half itself. The same number they had conceded in their seven previous games in the 24/25 season.

So, it is safe to say that Carter-Vickers is extremely important to this Celtic team. One can only hope that he is back to fitness before their game against Borussia Dortmund.
