Celtic superstar Kyogo Furuhashi reportedly nearing exit
Matt O'Riley is someone who has been constantly linked with a move away from Celtic Park in recent times. Clubs like Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United and more are rumoured to be interested in the Danish international. But now, it looks like Kyogo Furuhashi's future at Parkhead is under doubt as well.
When rumours broke out of Urawa Red Diamonds being interested in signing Kyogo, most fans did not take the suggestion seriously. A return to Japan at this point in his career just did not feel likely.
But now, it looks like an exit is very much on the cards for Kyogo. At least that seems to be the suggestion in the media. And he will have options other than a return to Japan as well.
As reported by TEAMtalk, Celtic are preparing for life without Kyogo. He is weighing up his options for the future. It now appears more likely than not that the Japanese forward will leave the club. There appears to be Premier League and Bundesliga interest.
Celtic superstar Kyogo Furuhashi reportedly nearing exit
Surely Celtic would not be open to parting ways with both O'Riley and Kyogo in the same summer. Of course, we have seen plenty of superstars leave the club over the years but rarely at once.
Kyogo has arguably been Celtic's best player over the past three seasons, since his move from Vissel Kobe. Over that period of time, they have won seven trophies. And according to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 73 goals and provided 15 assists for the club.
Of course, the 2023/24 season was not Kyogo's best in a Celtic shirt although he did still manage to score 19 goals. He does not look nearly as effective in Brendan Rodgers' system, as he did under the management of Ange Postecoglou. Has that led to the striker considering his future at Parkhead?
