Celtic urged to sign £5m striker 'better' than Moussa Dembele
The goalkeeping situation at Celtic might have been gotten all the transfer headlines in recent months, with Joe Hart retiring at the end of the season. But the Hoops will need to bring in reinforcements in multiple other positions this summer. In fact, they could need to sign multiple strikers.
Adam Idah has done a decent job for Celtic since arriving in the winter. But one cannot forget that he is only on loan from Norwich City until the end of the season with the Hoops not having an buyout clause included in the deal either.
On the other hand, Oh Hyeon-gyu's situation at Celtic is worrying too. The South Korean international had shown flashes of quality in the first half of the season but has barely featured since the arrival of Idah. It would make sense for him to head out on loan or leave permanently in the summer.
So, Celtic will most probably need to sign a striker in the summer transfer window and they have been urged to make Idah's stay at the club a permanent one. As reported by Football Scotland, Peter Grant said on Go Radio:
"For £5m? I think so because it is very difficult to get any striker for that type of money.
"I know he's not a number nine, but Sammie Smzodics has been scoring a lot of goals, and now you are talking about £15-20m for him at Blackburn who are sitting near the bottom of the league.
"We know what Idah can do and what he offers. He is hungry to score goals and is young. I think if he keeps taking the chances he can get better and more clinical, and you could end up getting big money again. Look what happened with Moussa Dembele. And I think he (Idah) is technically better than Moussa. They are different types of players but technique wise I think he brings that to his game as well."

That is a bold statement considering what Dembele was able to achieve during his time at Celtic. He is fondly remembered by the fans of the club to this day even though it has been a long time since he departed Parkhead.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Idah. But if he able to achieve anywhere close to what Dembele at Celtic, he would have had a great Parkhead career.
It is believed that it would take a transfer fee in the region of £5 million to convince Norwich City to part ways with Idah in the summer. Of course, that is a decent figure for a team like Celtic.
