It might be too early to make any statements, but it does feel like Celtic are finally starting to find some rhythm this season. Both Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers started the game against Livingston at the weekend, in what has been a rare occurrence in this campaign. The Hoops were able to get a comfortable 3-0 win, another thing that we have seen happen often.

One player who made a notable contribution against Livingston despite not starting is Paulo Bernardo. The Portuguese midfielder was a 65th minute substitute for Hatate but that was enough for him to get his name on the scoresheet.

Bernardo's place in Rodgers' plans has grown as the season has progressed. He is only on loan from Benfica for the campaign. But Celtic do seem to believe that he has a bright future ahead of him.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic have an option to sign Bernardo permanently for a £6 million fee. It is believed that the Hoops want to make his move permanent this summer as they believe he can develop into a £20million-plus player.

Bernardo was a highly rated youngster while coming through the ranks at Benfica. But he never got a real chance to show what he was capable of for the senior team.

Does that story sound familiar? Well, Celtic have already signed one Benfica loanee permanently in the past in Jota. Could they repeat the trick this summer? Time shall tell.

Bernardo is a solid midfielder for sure and can be a good contributor for Celtic, especially if Matt O'Riley leaves in the summer with several top clubs believed to be interested in him. But the Portuguese youth international has a long way to go if he is to be considered a £20 million-plus player anytime soon.
