Celtic have a lot of problems right now and what has disappointed a large section of the support is that they did not do enough to fix those issues when they had the chance during the January transfer window. As a result, we now stare at an uncertain future and one has to admit that it is the Rangers who have momentum in the league title race, despite losing both Glasgow Derbies so far in this campaign.

One of Celtic's biggest problems right now is their inability to score goals consistently. They have scored 55 times in 24 league games this season till now. That is 2.29 goals per game.

Last season, under the management of Ange Postecoglou, they had managed 114 goals in 38 games. That is 3 goals per match. Clearly, the gap is significant.

If Celtic continue at this rate, they will finish the league campaign with around 87 goals. That would be 27 fewer than the previous season. It goes without saying that they need to bring in a reliable goalscorer in the summer.

Celtic's recent match against Aberdeen was a reminder of what they are missing right now. Bojan Miovski scored a fantastic goal for the Dons on the day.

Celtic could certainly do with someone like Miovski right now. A proven goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership, who has further room for growth. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 19 goals and provided 4 assists in 34 appearances this season so far.

Rumours suggested in January that it would take a transfer fee around £5 million to sign Miovski from Aberdeen. Celtic shelled out a similar fee to bring Albian Ajeti to Parkhead in 2020 and we all know how that turned out. So why not sign the North Macedonian striker, who looks like a guaranteed success at the moment.
