The future of Adam Idah has been a topic of discussion amongst Celtic fans lately. There are many who believe that the club should sign him on a permanent basis this summer, with the Irishman showing a lot of promise since arriving on loan in the winter. On the other hand, there are those who feel that the Hoops can sign a better striker, if the rumours of Norwich City wanting a £5 million transfer fee are accurate.

Interestingly, Celtic have been linked with plenty of strikers over the past year or so. And one of them could be available for a similar transfer fee.

Bojan Miovski has been excellent for Aberdeen since joining the club in 2022. He has been scoring for fun this season even though his club have had an underwhelming campaign. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the North Macedonian international has scored 24 goals and provided 4 assists in 48 appearances.

It is not just that Miovski is scoring a lot of goals. He is doing so against top-level opposition. He has scored in three separate games against Celtic and twice against the Rangers. The Aberdeen striker has also found the back of the net four times in Europe.

When there was speculation about Celtic trying to sign Miovski in January, it was believed that it would take a £5 million transfer fee to convince Aberdeen to part ways with him. That would be a record when it comes to a player moving between two Scottish clubs.

If Miovski is still available for that kind of a figure, Celtic should probably prioritise a move for him over Idah. The Irishman has done well for sure but the North Macedonian striker is a lot more proven, and seems like a more natural goalscorer.

Let's see how the striker situation plays out at Celtic. It is worth keeping an eye on the situation of Oh Hyeon-gyu as well, who has barely featured since the arrival of Idah.
