Celtic's need to strengthen between the posts in the summer is not unknown. Of course, the biggest need would be to bring in a goalkeeper who can be the new number one for the Hoops with Joe Hart ready to retire at the end of the campaign. But further strengthening might be required in the goalkeeping department.

Benjamin Siegrist arrived in the summer of 2022 as a free agent. He was a very highly-rated goalkeeper back then and had had a decent spell at Dundee United. Many even expected him to win the competition with Hart for the Celtic first-team spot.

It would be safe to say that that did not happen. On the contrary, Siegrist has barely featured since then and there are serious doubts over the Swiss goalkeeper's future at Celtic. Most expect him to depart in search of playing time in the summer.

So, Celtic could need to bring in a cover goalkeeper this summer as well. And they might have the chance to sign one from Arsenal as a free agent.

Karl Hein is 22 years of age and currently plays for Arsenal. His deal with the club is believed to expire this summer though and it feels unlikely that his stay there will be extended beyond that.

Hein has only made one senior appearance for the club since joining Arsenal in 2018. So, it might be time for him to try out a different experience.

Hein might not have featured much at Arsenal but there is no question about his talents. In fact, he is a regular starter for the Estonia national team and has made 29 appearances at the internationally, despite his lack of game time at club level. So, someone like the 22-year-old could be a decent backup option for Celtic with a lot of room for growth and development.
