Celtic rumoured to have agreed deal for goalkeeper
There is a lot of speculation surrounding the Celtic goalkeeping situation at the moment. The club are without a number one following the retirement of Joe Hart at the end of the 23/24 season. The club have Benjamin Siegrist and Scott Bain, but neither of them has played much in recent times and should not be starting for the Hoops.
Celtic have been linked with quite a few high-profile goalkeepers in recent times. There have also been names who won't impress the fans upon arrival but could potentially prove to be decent signings.
One would say that the name of Altay Bayindir falls somewhere between those two categories. Yes, he does play for Manchester United. But at the same time, he has barely featured since joining the club and as a result is already being linked with an Old Trafford exit.
Interestingly, rumours have picked up pace online that Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Bayindir from Manchester United. One should take such speculation with a pinch of salt until a reliable media source confirms it.
Celtic rumoured to have agreed deal for goalkeeper
Someone like Bayindir could be a decent addition for Celtic. He was a regular for Fenerbahce before joining Manchester United. He has also made a few appearances for the Turkish national team and is part of their EURO 2024 squad.
Bayindir is also 26 years of age. That means that he could potentially be a long-term signing for Celtic if things work out.
Of course, nothing is clear at the moment regarding Celtic's goalkeeping search. A lot of rumours have been coming out lately and it remains to be seen which of them is accurate and which is not. One can only hope that the Hoops get their recruitment right and find someone capable of replacing Hart.
