Celtic have already seen quite a few players depart the club in the ongoing summer transfer window. Sead Haksabanovic, Rocco Vata, Benjamin Siegrist and Oh Hyeon-gyu have left Parkhead on a permanent basis. On the other hand, there are still several who do not seem to be part of Brendan Rodgers' first-team plans. For them, leaving might be the best solution.

The centre-back situation at Celtic has been a topic of discussion for quite some time now. Cameron Carter-Vickers is pretty much an automatic selection when fit. But who will partner him in the heart of defence next season?

Liam Scales was a nailed-on starter for Celtic last season. But the belief is that that is an area where the Hoops have room for improvement.

They have been linked with quite a few centre-backs in recent times. On the other hand, that could mean that departure of some already at the club but not getting opportunties.

Celtic reportedly open to offers for two players

It looks like two defenders' futures at Parkhead are in doubt. As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic are open to offers for Gustaf Lagerbielke and Yuki Kobayashi.

Lagerbielke was signed by Celtic last summer. But he just never looked like the right fit in Rodgers' system. He had his moments for sure, including scoring a winner in the Champions League and keeping a cleansheet in a win away at Ibrox. Despite that, the Swede does not seem to have a future in Glasgow. One has to question the recruitment.

On the other hand, Kobayashi was signed during the Ange Postecoglou era. But he never really convinced with his performances. In fact, his arrival had led to the departure of Moritz Jenz, whose loan stint was cut short. The German centre-back has had a far more successful time since then and currently plays for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
