Celtic need to strengthen in a number of positions. The flanks are not believed to be one in need of immediate reinforcements though. Luis Palma has been very decent since his summer arrival from Aris FC. On the other hand, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda have recently returned from spells on the sidelines as well.

On top of that, Mikey Johnston did score a brace recently. James Forrest appears to be someone Brendan Rodgers still rates highly. Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio were signed in the summer.

Overall, Celtic have a lot of options on the wings. That has not stopped them from being linked with another one though.

It is a name familiar to the fans as well and someone the club have been linked with in the past. As tweeted by Celticunderground, Celtic have been offered the chance to sign Ola Solbakken.

Celtic reportedly offered chance to sign AS Roma winger

Solbakken came up against Celtic when he was at Bodo/Glimt and impressed a lot of people with his performances. So much so that he was linked with a move to Parkhead.

That did not end up materialising and he joined AS Roma soon instead. Things have not gone smoothly for him in Jose Mourinho's side though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists in 15 appearances for the club so far.

Solbakken is currently out on loan at Olympiacos but things have not gone his way there either. He is yet to make a goal contribution this season and is barely playing at the moment.

So, Solbakken is certainly not someone in form. If Celtic did sign him, it would based on what he showed at Bodo/Glimt some years back. Let's see if the Hoops end up making a move or not.
