A lot of Celtic fans were hoping to see the club sign another striker, a left-back and a goalkeeper in the January transfer window. But it seems like the Hoops are looking to strengthen on the wings this month. That is certainly interesting because Luis Palma, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada are expected to compete for starting spots moving forward, while Mikey Johnston, Yang Hyun-jun, James Forrest and Marco Tilio are also options.

Do Celtic really need to sign another winger right now? There are certainly other areas in need of more urgent reinforcements.

Still Celtic appear to have made their move for Nicolas Kuhn. And they seem intent on signing the Rapid Vienna winger.

As reported by Football Scotland, Celtic have tabled their first offer for Kuhn. It is just short of what Rapid Vienna are looking for but the Scottish champions are preparing to return with a second bid in the hopes of signing the German winger.

Kuhn has been at an impressive list of clubs through the course of his career so far. The former German youth international has spent time at Bayern Munich, Ajax and RB Leipzig.

He did not manage to break into the senior team of any of those clubs those. It is at Rapid Vienna that he finally seems to have found his feet and is having a very good season right now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 3 goals and provided 7 assists in 22 appearances and 1600 minutes of football in this campaign.

Of course, signing someone like Kuhn would come with its fair share of risk. At 24 years of age, he is finally having a good season. Is this just a purple patch or has he found his feet in senior football and will continue to get better from here on forward?
