Celtic earned a lot of plaudits for the signings that they made during the time of Ange Postecoglou as the manager of the club and understandably so. The club were able to bring in players like Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada, Matt O'Riley and several others within a short span of time.

While the signings that they made during Postecoglou's first season as manager were mostly spectacular, the same cannot be said about the following campaign. Alistair Johnston and Aaron Mooy were the only two to make a positive contribution.

Other than that, there was not much to write home about. One such signing which did not work out was that of Benjamin Siegrist, who arrived as a free agent.

On paper, signing Siegrist looked like a no brainer. He had been a standout performer during his time at Dundee United and many felt he could even replace Joe Hart in the starting XI. That did not happen. He has barely featured since joining the Hoops and it looks like his time at Parkhead is set to come to an end soon.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are ready to accept an offer for Siegrist before the close of the transfer window. Multiple European clubs weighing up moves.

It makes sense for both the club and the player to part ways. There is not much benefit in him continuing to sit in the reserves or on the bench.

While a permanent transfer away in the middle of the season feels unlikely, especially considering the little football he has played since joining Celtic, a loan move could materialise. Of course, Scott Bain is the other cover option the club have for Hart at this point in time.
