Celtic make progress on deal for 21-year-old striker
Many Celtic fans have been left worried by the lack of activity at the club in terms of incomings this month. It feels like the urgency that was there a few weeks ago has evaporated following their Glasgow Derby victory. So far, only one signing has been made, with Nicolas Kuhn joining from Rapid Vienna in a deal believed to be around £3 million.
Hopefully, Celtic will sign another striker this month. The Hoops have not been efficient enough in front of the goal this season till now.
The change in the system appears to have had a negative effective on Kyogo's output, who has looked like a shadow of the player he was last season, although he has stepped up to the plate in big games. On the other hand, Oh Hyeon-gyu remains inconsistent and is currently away at the AFC Asian Cup representing the South Korea national team.
Celtic have been linked with plenty of strikers in recent times. And it looks like they are finally making some progress.
Celtic make progress on deal for 21-year-old striker
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are making progress on a deal for Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby IF. But their pursuit of Sydney van Hooijdonk of Bologna has met with a stumbling block.
Celtic are believed to have made a transfer bid in the summer of around €5 million for Kvistgaarden but it was turned down. It does look like the Hoops are pretty convinced about his quality, considering they are still being heavily linked with him.
It remains to be seen if a move for Kvistgaarden transpires this month. They have been linked with more experienced and proven players like Bojan Miovski of Aberdeen and Lawrence Shankland of Hearts as well, and a lot of people would like for the club to go for that kind of an option rather than make another 'project' signing.
