Celtic have been more active in terms of outgoings than incomings this month so far. The Hoops did complete their first signing of January recently though, getting a deal over the line for Nicolas Kuhn. The German winger arrives after a promising time at Rapid Vienna and hopefully he will build on that at Parkhead.

On the other hand, it looks like one of Celtic's most promising youngsters is closing in on a Parkhead exit. That player is none other than Rocco Vata.

The son of Rudi Vata, Rocco has been one of the standouts for Celtic B. His excellent performances at the developmental levels have not earned him enough chances with the senior team. And with his contract running out in the summer, it looks like his time at the club will come to an end soon, whether that be this month or after this season.

As reported by Football Insider, Vata has offers on the table from both Bologna and Como 1907. He is in talks with both clubs and is weighing up his options for a potential exit in the January transfer window.

Vata leaving has to be viewed as a blow for Celtic. He is arguably the most highly-rated player in their youth ranks right now.

It would represent another player who was expected to come through the youth ranks at Celtic and make their mark in the senior team but did not. That has been the story far too often for the club in recent years.

The last player to come through the Celtic youth system and become a first-team superstar was Kieran Tierney. He left back in 2019 for Arsenal. That is how long it has been and it is safe to say that some things need to change.
