Celtic have been more active when it comes to outgoings rather than incomings this month. Of course, that is a risky approach, considering how much the team was struggling not too long ago. But it looks like the urgency to sign new players has decreased considerably following the recent Glasgow Derby win at Parkhead.

Several do seem headed for the exit door though. Yosuke Ideguchi has already completed a move to Vissel Kobe while Nat Phillips has returned to Liverpool after his loan spell ended. Yuki Kobayashi and Gustaf Lagerbielke are two more players being linked with moves away.

Another player whose time at Celtic seems to be coming to an end is Rocco Vata. For some reason, he has not gotten chances in the first-team since Brendan Rodgers' arrival. And now, an exit seems to be inching closer.

As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Celtic have granted Bologna permission to speak to Vata. Talks are now ongoing.

Vata has been one of Celtic's most highly-rated youngsters for a long time and has been in top form for the B team as well. But that has not really translated into first-team chances for the Irish youngster.

Vata did make some appearances when Ange Postecoglou was the manager of the club and did not really look out of place when on the pitch. So, it is curious why those chances suddenly stopped coming.

It certainly does not help Celtic's reputation of not being able to promote their youngsters to the senior team. The last player to do so was Kieran Tierney and he left the club back in 2019.

Vata is someone who seemed to be on the path to the senior team but now, it looks like he will be playing his football elsewhere. One can only hope that Celtic do not end up regretting it.
