Celtic have a lot of problems right now. That has become pretty clear through the course of this season. Even when they were winning consistently earlier on in the campaign, the performances were not great. And in recent weeks, the results have been nothing to write home about. Brendan Rodgers' team have dropped 8 points in their previous five matches, opening the door for the Rangers to take the lead.

One key problem Celtic have been dealing with all season is set-pieces. The Hoops just don't seem capable of defending them consistently at the moment.

Of course, a lot of eyes will be on the defence for that. But Joe Hart has quite certainly not covered himself in glory either.

In fact, fingers have been pointed towards Hart when it comes to Celtic's set-piece troubles. As reported by TBR Football, Hugh Keevins said on Clyde SSB:

"Every time there’s a corner kick, there’s trouble.

“Because he never leaves his line, he’s all over the place.

“But in the summertime when I and others suggested that Celtic should get another goalkeeper in, ‘Oh no, no, Joe Hart’s fine.’

“Joe Hart is not fine."

Hart was signed by Celtic in the summer of 2021 from Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer fee believed to be around £1 million. The Englishman was one of the best goalkeepers in the world in his prime but it had looked like his days as a first-choice goalkeeper were over by that point in time and he had been playing as a cover option for quite a while.

Hart proved a lot of people wrong after arriving at Celtic Park. Not only was he solid between the posts but a leader as well, which they needed following the departure of Scott Brown.

It is now time to look for another goalkeeper though. Hart is set to turn 37 years of age before the season comes to an end and clearly is not the long-term solution for Celtic. At the same time, his performances have raised a lot of questions in recent times too.
