Celtic player pictured in training after injury scare
Celtic have had terrible luck when it comes to injuries this season. Brendan Rodgers has never really had the strongest squad available to him and with having to constantly change the playing XI due to fitness issues, it is no wonder that the Hoops have struggled to find any sort of form or consistency in this campaign so far.
Cameron Carter-Vickers is already out injured at the moment, and worryingly, this is not his first injury of the season. On the other hand, it had looked like Stephen Welsh was set to join the American centre-back on the sidelines.
Welsh had to be substituted off in the game against Hibernian with what many were fearing to be a hamstring injury. But there is some good news in that regard.
Celtic recently posted training footage from Lennoxtown on their official YouTube channel. And unexpectedly, Welsh was seen taking part with the rest of his teammates.

Thus, it looks like Welsh has either recovered from his problem or it was not very serious to begin with. That is encouraging news for Celtic, as their options at centre-back in the absence of Carter-Vickers are not the best.
Maik Nawrocki has gotten some game time lately but he has not been able to impress with his performances. On the other hand, it had looked like the club were ready to let Gustaf Lagerbielke leave on loan in January before Carter-Vickers picked up his latest injury.
As a result, someone like Welsh might have a role to play under these circumstances. When Celtic's best options are available, he might not be a starter. But right now, he could very well be ahead of the likes of Nawrocki and Lagerbielke in the pecking order. That is not a good look for the recruitment policy.
