Celtic player informs Brendan Rodgers about exit decision
There has not been a lot of positivity amongst Celtic fans after their 7-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. It is not hard to understand why. Many believed that the Hoops had turned the page and were moving in the right direction in Europe under the management of Brendan Rodgers. Now, it feels like they are back to square one. Nothing has changed. This is the same old story.
The best thing to do in this situation is to move on from the result against Borussia Dortmund. It was a bad day at the office. We have seen even Liverpool concede seven in recent years. Things like this happen.
We cannot overlook all the positive things we have seen from Celtic recently. They won nine straight games this season before the one against Borussia Dortmund. They have not conceded a goal in the league yet.
One player who has not had a positive time though is Luis Palma. He has been heavily linked with a January exit. And now, it looks like the Honduran winger has made a decision about his future at Celtic.

As reported by El Heraldo (via Daily Record), Palma "has made personal decision" to remain with the club following talks with Rodgers. He wants "to repay the trust of his coach, with whom he has a good relationship".
It is worth pointing out that the situation around Palma can change very quickly. Do not forget that he had started so brilliantly in pre-season and even scored against Manchester City.
Palma's ability to affect a game in the final third is not in question. He needs to improve his overall game and be more consistent. Perhaps he needs a bit more confidence as well. If he can do that, he could still be a solid player for Celtic.
