Celtic find themselves in a world of trouble right now. Brendan Rodgers' side had the chance to go back to the top of the Premiership table this weekend but could not take it, losing 2-0 away at Tynecastle Stadium against Hearts. And soon enough, it looks like they could be seeing a player leave, who was key under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

Yet, the exit might be best for all parties involved. Of course, we are talking about Liel Abada, who has not been involved lately.

There is not much left to say about the circumstances. It is hard to understand why Abada might want to leave and it seems like the departure is close to becoming a reality.

As reported by Football Scotland, Abada is holding talks with Charlotte FC. He has been in conversations with the MLS outfit over a switch since the end of last week and the transfer fee could come close to around £10 million. The winger is expected to be in the United States as early as this week to undergo medical tests and put pen to paper on the deal.

Abada was an important contributor for Celtic during Postecoglou's two seasons at Celtic. While he might not have been a regular starter, he did provide 48 goal contributions over those two campaigns.

That is excellent for a winger. Naturally, when Jota left the club last summer, Abada was expected to take his place in the starting XI.

But first injuries, and then the unfortunate circumstances, have kept Abada out of the team for the majority of the season. And now, it looks like he will be leaving Celtic Park much sooner than anybody could have expected, when the winger signed a new deal just earlier in the ongoing campaign.
