Todd Cantwell is a player most Celtic fans were not fond of. The Englishman spent a short but eventful spell with the Rangers and was mostly on the losing side when it comes to Glasgow Derbies or trophy celebrations. Another thing he was criticised for was his social media activity. He decided to depart Ibrox this summer though, after just 20 months of joining the club to move to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

One Celtic player has recently earned comparisons to Cantwell for his social media activity. And if you play for the Hoops, that is not one comparison you want to be made.

The player in question is Luis Palma. The Honduran winger made a bright start to life at Celtic after joining last summer from Aris FC. He consistently contributed early on in his run at Parkhead with both quality goals and assists, and it had looked like the Hoops had found their replacement for Jota.

But as the 23/24 season progressed, he lost his place in the team and has not been able to win it back since. Palma recently posted a motivational quote on his Instagram story which translates to:

"Resilience. That's why you're going to get ahead in life, because despite any adversity, you find the positive side and you start working forward."

Of course, there is nothing wrong with that message. But it did not impress plenty of people, who have ended up comparing him with Cantwell.

Now, one has to think that a lot of the negativity is due to their unhappiness with his performances on the pitch. The same message would have received a different reaction if Nicolas Kuhn had posted it.

Still, one thing is clear, Palma has to improve if he is to have a future at Celtic. Resilience is certainly one quality he will need. Another will be patience because, at the moment, it is hard to see him get into the team ahead of Kuhn and Daizen Maeda.
