Celtic fans are hoping that the club sign some players before the close of the January transfer window. But most of the rumours surrounding the Hoops right now involve potential exits. The likes of Yosuke Ideguchi, Adam Montgomery and Kwon Hyeok-kyu have already departed. And it looks like another departure is close.

The majority of Celtic's summer signings have failed to make an impact since arriving. And it looks like the Hoops are ready to part ways with some of them already.

Gustaf Lagerbielke has struggled to get into Brendan Rodgers' plans since his €3.5 million move from IF Elfsborg. Now, it looks like a move to Italy is on the cards for the Swedish international.

As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Lecce are close to agreeing a loan deal for Lagerbielke. It's understood that the loan will include an option to buy.

it remains to be seen whether the move ends up going through or not. But one would expect it to take place.

Lagerbielke has barely featured when everybody is fit and available. And there is very little point to him continuing to sit on the bench or in the reserves.

Signing Lagerbielke appears to have been a mistake on the part of the recruitment department from the very beginning. It never felt like he was the right fit for Rodgers' style of football.

The Serie A might suit Lagerbielke's strengths better though. So, a move to Lecce could be great for the Swedish centre-back and bring his career back on track. If he does well, a permanent move away from Parkhead might follow in the summer.

As for Celtic, it remains to be seen whether they manage to make any further additions this month or not. If not, then they could be in for a long second half of the season.
