The Deadline Day has not been a very busy one for Celtic so far. The Adam Idah loan deal is expected to be announced at some point with rumours suggesting that an agreement with Norwich City has been already reached. There had been speculation about another left-back and a midfielder being potentially added as well, but there has been nothing in that regard, with merely hours left in the winter transfer window.

On the other hand, a few players are expected to leave Celtic before the transfer window closes. The first of them has been officially announced.

As tweeted by Celtic's official account, Mikey Johnston has joined West Bromwich Albion. He will be with the Championship club on loan until the end of the season.

Following the arrival of Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna this month, Johnston had slipped further down the pecking order. So, it makes sense for him to leave on loan and search for regular football elsewhere.

Hopefully, West Bromwich Albion have a plan for Johnston. He did not play a ton of football for Celtic in the first half of the season.

When Johnston was on the pitch, he was inconsistent. There were games were he did quite well, and even managed a brace. But then, there were others in which he did not look up to the mark at all.

West Bromwich Albion are at an important point right now. They are currently in the Championship play-off spots and will be hoping to finish the league campaign there.

It is good to see that Johnston has been brought in as someone who can potentially make a difference for them. Hopefully he does and guides them to promotion to the Premier League. We can only wish him the best of luck.
