When Nicolas Kuhn joined Celtic, fans were not sure what to expect. The most exciting thing about the winger was that he had been at clubs like Bayern Munich, Ajax and RB Leipzig. The problem is that he had not succeeded at the senior level at any of them. Instead, his best football had come in a Rapid Vienna shirt.

So, expectations were not high but some fans were hoping to see him fulfil the potential that had seen make it to clubs like Bayern Munich, Ajax and RB Leipzig in the first place. And he might be starting to do just that.

Admittedly, Kuhn was not great in the second half of last season, after arriving at Celtic. He contributed here and there but overall, it was not much to write home about.

Kuhn looks like a player reborn this season though. He was excellent in pre-season and has carried on with that form, now that competitive games are back. The German winger scored in the opener against Kilmarnock before adding a goal and an assist to his name against Hibernian.

One can only hope that this is not just a small patch of good form. Hopefully, Kuhn will continue performing this throughout the season.

Kuhn seems to be already looking forward to the Champions League campaign and he would like to face some of his former teams. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:

"There are a lot of great teams we could draw. I wish we could play them all. But it would be nice to maybe play against Leipzig or Bayern Munich, two of my former clubs."

On current form, Kuhn could actually make an impact at the European level. Now, it remains to be seen whether he gets to play one of his former clubs or not.

Celtic have faced teams like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in recent Champions League campaigns. Hopefully, another big club comes visiting Parkhead this season.
