Not too long ago, Celtic were flying high. It felt like there was no stopping Brendan Rodgers' side. They had even won their Champions League opener 5-1 against Slovan Bratislava. But it all came down like a house of cards at Signal Iduna Park. The Hoops conceded seven goals vs Borussia Dortmund. On another night, it could have been more.

It was not just the result but the performance. Celtic did not look like a Champions League side. They were naive in their approach. And as a result, there are now the same old question marks over this team once again.

One player who particularly struggled against Borussia Dortmund was Auston Trusty. Celtic shelled out in the region of £6 million to sign him from Sheffield United on deadline day but so far, his performances have been nowhere near the mark. He had been shaky against Falkirk as well.

Perhaps it is important to give him more time. After all, he was brought in as a potential partner for Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of defence, not his replacement. But if things don't improve in the coming months, Celtic might need to sign another centre-back.

One player who was rumoured to be available in the summer was Carl Starfelt. But the Swede has stayed on at Celta Vigo for the time being.

If Celtic do need a centre-back come January, they should definitely consider bringing back Starfelt. He was solid during his two years at Parkhead under the management of Ange Postecoglou and often did not get the credit that he deserved.

Also, one would imagine that he has improved since leaving Celtic, having played at the La Liga level. Of course, the best case scenario would be Trusty improving and proving the doubters wrong.
