Celtic fans must be in a great mood after the club's Glasgow Derby win to close off the year. The result is a major boost for a team that was definitely in need of one following a disappointing run of form. Now, they will hopefully look to make some solid additions in the January transfer window and go on a good run next year to march to their third-straight league title.

Some changes have already taken place in Brendan Rodgers' backroom team though. Harry Kewell has left, as had been expected, to become the new Yokohama F. Marinos manager.

On the other hand, contrary to some speculation, Celtic have moved quickly to bring in a replacement. And it is a familiar face for Rodgers.

As reported by Celtic's official website, they have appointed Adam Sadler as a new first-team coach. He coached at Leicester City, from 2018 until this summer, during which time he worked closely with Rodgers.

Of course, Kewell had built up a glittering reputation for himself with his work as a coach at Celtic. He arrived when Ange Postecoglou was manager of the club and stayed on even when he left for Tottenham Hotspur.

It is easy to understand why he decided to take up the Yokohama F. Marinos job though. It is the most high-profile managerial opportunity he has had so far in his career. We can only wish him the best of luck in his future as a manager.

On the other hand, in Sadler, Celtic are getting a very experienced coach. Rodgers enjoyed a ton of success while working with him at Leicester City. The team won the FA Cup and the Community Shield, while challenging for a top 4 spot in the Premier League multiple times as well. Hopefully, that will continue at Celtic Park as well.
