Celtic make decision on Brendan Rodgers' future
it would be safe to say that the pressure has been growing on Brendan Rodgers in recent weeks as Celtic have continued to struggle and have now fallen behind the Rangers in the title race, something that would have been unthinkable a few months ago when the Hoops were cruising in the league. The Northern Irishman might have been pretty much perfect during his first stint at Parkhead but the picture looks very different these days.
Not much Celtic have done this season has worked. Their performances have been underwhelming throughout and even the results have headed south over the last few months.
The Hoops are struggling to win even against teams in the bottom half of the Premiership table. And naturally, questions are being raised about Rodgers and his future at the club. Many fans believe he should be shown the exit door soon if the Hoops are to save their season.
But as reported by Football Insider, Celtic are not set to make a knee-jerk reaction on the future of Rodgers. There is not likely to be any movement on the manager's role before the end of the 2023-24 season.
Celtic make decision on Rodgers' future
That would be in line with how Celtic have operated over the years. Take the case of Neil Lennon in the 2020/21 campaign for example.
It is hard to imagine that Celtic would consider parting ways with Rodgers in the middle of the season. And there is very much a possibility that they could decide to continue with him, even if they finish trophyless.
The fact of the matter is that the club have made plenty of mistakes themselves. Rodgers has not done a great job with the players available to him but at the same time, he has not been helped by the lack of ambition shown by the Hoops this season in the transfer windows.
