Celtic need to strengthen their ranks on the wings following the departures of Jota and Liel Abada. Both were key players for the club during the Ange Postecoglou era and replacing them will be a tough task. We have seen promising signs from Nicolas Kuhn in recent games while Yang Hyun-jun was doing well too before his red card suspension. It remains to be seen if they can deliver on a consistent basis though.

Celtic are expected to sign another winger in the summer. And recently they were linked with Jota Silva of Vitoria Guimaraes.

Silva is enjoying his breakthrough season right now and made his full international debut for Portugal recently. But it looks like Celtic's interest in the winger is not new.

As reported by Football Scotland, Celtic approached Vitoria SC about Silva in January before turning their attention to Kuhn. The Portuguese club were keen on keeping the player and he is now valued at a transfer fee around €15 million.

Premier League clubs are believed to be interest in Silva as well and matching Vitoria SC's transfer valuation would not be a problem for them. It is hard to see the Hoops matching that figure though.

Of course, it is not considerably more than their transfer record, which was the £9 million Celtic shelled out to sign Odsonne Edouard. And there have been murmurs about the Hoops looking to make a statement next summer. So, nothing should be ruled out completely.

Someone like Silva would be an excellent signing for Celtic and could be the one to fill the void left behind by his namesake, Jota. It will be a very difficult deal to pull off though, not just because of the potential transfer fee but also the competition for his signature as well.
