Celtic are in need of reinforcements as soon as possible. Brendan Rodgers' side have looked uninspired and completely out of ideas in recent performances. That has allowed the Rangers to not only get back into the title race but also handed them the opportunity to take the lead, if they can win their games in hand. Philippe Clement's side have the momentum with them too.

Thus, Celtic need to do something and quickly. The hope is that they will make some quality additions in January and get their season back on track.

One name that is doing the rounds of the Celtic rumour mill on fan forums is Fabio Silva. The Wolves player has struggled to find his form in the Premier League following his £35 million move from FC Porto.

Silva has already spent time out on loan at clubs like Anderlecht and PSV. And it would not be a surprise if he was available on loan in January once again. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 1 goal in 10 appearances this season so far for Wolves.

Silva was considered one of the biggest talents in Portuguese football while coming through the youth ranks. He has had somewhat decent loan spells at Anderlecht and PSV as well.

That being said, there are a lot of similarities when it comes to the style of the Premier League and the Premiership. So, would he be the right fit?

On the other hand, one could argue that he would get a lot more chances to score at Celtic than he would at Wolves. So, this is an interesting situation.

But once again, Silva would have to be considered as a 'project' signing. Despite his potential, he is not proven at the top level. So, the move would be risky with Celtic needing goals.
