Celtic's search for Joe Hart's replacement this summer has seen them being linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent times. The Englishman had been the club's number one for the previous three seasons, winning seven trophies during that time including three-straight league titles. He retired at the end of last season. It goes without saying that he has left behind big gloves to fill.

One of the goalkeepers Celtic have been linked with in recent times is Vaclav Hladky. And they will now get the chance to sign him on a free transfer this summer.

As reported by Ipswich Town's official website, Hladky has left the club following the expiration of his contract. He featured in every game for them in their promotion-winning campaign last season.

Now, it remains to be seen whether Celtic can sign Hladky as a free agent. If they do, it would certainly represent an interesting career path for the 33-year-old Czech goalkeeper, who was playing in the fourth division of English football just a few years back.

Hladky will already know Scottish football quite well, having spent time at St Mirren in the past. But it would be safe to say that his breakthrough season was the last one, which came in his early thirties.

Now, Hladky certainly does not have the track record to replace someone as decorated as Hart in goal. Let's see whether the Hoops end up making the move or not.

It is very possible that they could sign more than one goalkeeper this summer. There are question marks over Benjamin Siegrist's future at the club as well and he is widely expected to depart, having rarely featured since arriving at Celtic Park in the summer of 2022, while Ange Postecoglou was still the manager.
