Celtic have made it a habit to sign some of the most talented youngsters from around the world, in hopes of developing them into quality players at the senior level. Sometimes that strategy works like a dream. Other times, fans are left scratching their heads as to why the player was ever signed. This time around, it looks like a Ghanaian winger making waves in Norway is on the radar of the Hoops.

The player in question is Edmund Baidoo. He is 18 years of age and currently playing in the Norwegian second division for Sogndal IL.

Baidoo has managed to put up some impressive numbers for the Norwegian club, which appears to have caught the eye of clubs around Europe. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 17 appearances for Sogndal so far.

As reported by Sports World Ghana, Celtic and Club Brugge KV are keen on securing Baidoo's signature. Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United are also in pursuit of the Ghanaian youngster.

That is some top level interest in Baidoo's signature. One thing is for sure, if he continues to perform like this, he won't remain at Sogndal for much longer.

Yes, he is playing in the Norwegian second division and not in a top league. But even then, the numbers that the 18-year-old Ghanaian winger has been able to put up are very impressive. It might be worth taking a chance on a talent like him.

With clubs like Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United and Club Brugge also in the race to sign Baidoo, it will be interesting to see if Celtic are able to come out on top. If they do, it would have to be seen as a coup.
