This January transfer window is an interesting one for Celtic for sure. The Hoops seemed to be in major need of reinforcements not too long ago but a decent run of form recently, including a Glasgow Derby win, has reduced worries quite a bit. One cannot ignore their inconsistent form throughout the season because of that though.

Celtic could do with reinforcements all over the pitch. Midfield might very well be one such area, although the recent form of Paulo Bernardo and the return of Reo Hatate from injury has increased their options in the middle of the park.

That has not stopped the Hoops from being linked with a Liverpool legend though. That is none other than Jordan Henderson.

As reported by The Sun, Henderson wants to return to the Premier League just six months after his summer exit from Liverpool. A return to England is on the cards while Celtic and an unnamed German club are also believed to be interested in the midfielder.

Henderson is 33 years of age and would not be a long-term solution for Celtic. That being said, his experience and quality are unquestionable.

Henderson came through the youth ranks at Sunderland before moving to Liverpool in 2011. For a long time, he faced a decent bit of criticism at Anfield.

But ultimately, he would go on to become Liverpool captain, won every trophy possible with the club and was a major part of their Premier League triumph a few years ago. Of course, Brendan Rodgers will know Henderson well from their time together at Anfield.

Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for him or not. If Henderson does end up at Parkhead soon, it would be interesting to see what kind of a role he ends up playing for the Scottish champions.
