Most Celtic fans would like the club to sign another goalkeeper in the near future. Joe Hart has been the club's number one since arriving in the summer of 2021 from Tottenham Hotspur. To be fair to the Englishman, he has done well and played a key part both on and off the pitch. That being said, he will be 37 years of age before this season comes to an end and there have been many question marks over his recent performances.

So, Celtic do need a long-term goalkeeper who can replace Hart between the posts. But one of the names they are being linked with will not fill fans with confidence.

Vaclav Hladky has been a standout for Ipswich Town this season. The English club earned promotion from League One in the previous campaign and could be looking to repeat that, as they sit second in the Championship table right now. The performances of their goalkeeper have played a part in that.

As reported by iSport, Hladky's contract with the club expires in June 2024, and the continuation of the 33-year-old goalkeeper has yet to be resolved. Celtic have shown interest in him.

Do Celtic want to sign Hladky as their future number one? Or are they viewing him as someone who can be the cover option if someone like Benjamin Siegrist leaves?

That remains to be seen. But it worth pointing out that Hladky was playing League Two football not too long ago. And he was not the starting goalkeeper for Ipswich Town in the previous two seasons either.

Also, he is 33 years of age. So, he would not be a long-term solution for Celtic, which is what the club need to look for when it comes to Hart's replacement.
