Celtic still have a match left to be play this season and it is very important one. The Hoops will take on the Rangers in the final of the Scottish Cup this weekend. Now, Brendan Rodgers' team have come out on top three times in Glasgow derbies already in this campaign. But these games are always one-offs and they cannot afford to take Philippe Clement's side lightly. Hopefully, they will take their A-game to Hampden Park.

After that, the focus will turn towards the summer transfer window and strengthening the squad further. It looks like work is already underway in that regard though.

One position where Celtic could do with some strengthening is left-back. Greg Taylor is the only real option they have in that area of the pitch, with Alexandro Bernabei leaving on loan not too long ago.

As tweeted by Geo Team, French Ligue 1 club, Italian Serie A club and Celtic are interested in the transfer of Irakli Azarov. Mamuka Jugeli, the player's agent, confirmed this.

Celtic's interest in €3 million defender confirmed

Azarov is a left-back and a Georgian international. He currently plays for Shakhtar Donetsk, who he joined last summer for a transfer fee believed to be around €3 million.

Considering the interest in his signature, it feels like it will take a figure higher than that to bring him to Celtic Park. It remains to be seen if the club end up making a push for the 22-year-old.

Someone like Azarov would be an interesting signing for Celtic, as he has already been a regular for Shakhtar Donetsk. Considering his resume, he might not be a high-risk signing, even though he might not be a household name. And at the end of the day, Taylor could do with some competition for his place in the starting XI.
