The season is over and Brendan Rodgers' Celtic ended it in the best manner possible, securing a Premiership and Scottish Cup double. At certain points, the club finishing trophyless had seemed like a very real possibility. But they delivered when it mattered the most, and brought home some more silverware while getting the better of the Rangers along the way.
The same cannot be said of Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's team appeared to lose momentum in the final few months of the season.
This was Klopp's last season as Liverpool boss, as he had already announced his decision to leave at the end of the campaign. Their fans would have been hoping to say goodbye to the legendary German manager by winning the Premier League title but it was not to be.
Interestingly, it was Rodgers that Klopp had replaced as Liverpool manager back in 2015. And the two have been pictured together in Spain. A user named Steven Beacom tweeted out a picture of himself with the two managers 'in the Spanish sun'.

It will be interesting to see what the next step is for Klopp. There were a lot of top jobs available this summer, like Barcelona and Bayern Munich. But it seems as if the German manager has decided that he needs to take a break after a long run at Liverpool.
There will never be a lack of opportunities for someone of Klopp's quality. Expect him to be back managing a top club in the not-too-distant future.
On the other hand, the path is clear for Rodgers as well. Celtic might have won the double this season but there is still a lot of room for improvement, both domestically and in Europe. Hopefully, the foundations for that will be laid in the summer.
