Aberdeen just cannot seem to find any stability in their managerial hot seat at the moment. Neil Warnock has become the latest manager to head out of Pittodrie Stadium, as they announced on their official website that the Englishman has stepped aside. Could a Celtic legend end up replacing him?

Warnock was brought in as interim boss just last month and was in charge of Aberdeen for only eight games. Initially, the expectation was that he would stay at the club until the end of the season. The search for a new manager is believed to be at an advanced stage.

Neil Lennon appears to have emerged as the early favourite in the eyes of most to become the next Aberdeen manager. The Northern Irishman has been out of management for a while now.

His last role was at Omonia Nicosia, with whom he won the Cypriot Cup. For a long while, Lennon had looked to be one of the frontrunners for the Republic of Ireland job, but that does not seem to be on the cards for him.

Lennon has already admitted his interest in the Aberdeen job. As reported by The Scotsman, the former Celtic player and manager said:

"The Aberdeen job is something I would be very interested in, no question."

It remains to be seen whether Aberdeen end up appointing Lennon as their next manager or not. While he did not impress in his last season at Celtic, nobody can deny his experience in Scottish football.

Lennon did win 10 trophies as the manager of Celtic. He also had a decent spell as Hibernian boss and has experience of managing in England too with Bolton Wanderers. So, considering the situation Aberdeen are in, sitting 10th in the Premiership, the Northern Irishman could be a decent option to go with for them.
