Celtic want goalkeeper who is 'better' than Joe Hart
Celtic will have to sign a goalkeeper this summer, that much has been crystal clear since the moment Joe Hart announced his decision to retire at the end of this season. Hopefully, the Hoops can give him the farewell that he deserves, with a couple more winners' medals. The Englishman has been the number one for the Glasgow giants since his arrival in 2021 from Tottenham Hotspur.
Hart has been on the receiving end of criticism throughout his time at Celtic. But at the same time, fans also recognise that he has done a pretty good job as the first-team goalkeeper in the twilight of his career and brought some much-needed stability to the position.
There are not many goalkeepers out there with his mix of ability and experience. So, replacing Hart will not be an easy task for Celtic by any stretch of the imagination.
At the same time though, one needs to recognise that there are areas where Celtic definitely need to improve when it comes to Hart's successor. And hopefully they will make the right pick.
Celtic want goalkeeper who is 'better' than Joe Hart
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic want to bring in a goalkeeper with better distribution than Hart this summer. Brendan Rodgers wants someone who is good with the ball at his feet.
For all of his qualities, one cannot deny the fact that Hart is not brilliant when it comes to playing with the ball at his feet. That was one of the reasons why there were so many question marks when the club signed him to play in Ange Postecoglou's system.
He has somehow managed to make it work for the last years but it is definitely one area where Celtic can better. And who knows what overall effect it will have on the team.
