Many players now use social media to share reels of their highlights. They are often after a match, at the end of a season or as part of a move to a new club. Oddly enough some Rangers players just can't seem to help including moments from defeats at the hand of Celtic in their videos. There have been a couple of them appearing over recent days.

We have already seen John Lundstrum’s departing video reel from his time with the Rangers including that red card tackle in the Glasgow Derby at Parkhead in May. It’s hard to think why such a moment was a highlight. Especially as the Hoops won the match and helped smooth the path to the league title.

Next up was Rangers captain James Tavernier. He has included an example of him winning a tackle against Daizen Maeda in his Instagram reel for season 2023/24

It came from the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park, a game that the Rangers lost. We guess if Maeda had produced a reel it might have had the trophy in there.

Then we have Borna Barisic making his farewell, as he signed for Turkish side Trabzonspor. His new club published a few clips for their fans showing the Croatian defender in action. One of those came from Celtic’s 3-0 win against the Rangers back in February 2022. Incidentally, he was heavily criticised for his performance on that day.

The clip shows Callum McGregor making Barisic backtrack under strong pressing from the Celtic skipper. We are not sure the Croatian will love the reminder of the defeat and his own performance on that night.

It’s quite surprising to see such a collection of highlights for the Rangers players. Although with such a limited collection of trophies in recent years and no win against Celtic last season, content was limited.
