Celtic were expected to sign a left-back in the January transfer window. Greg Taylor has struggled to match the heights he had reached while playing under the management of Ange Postecoglou. On the other hand, Alexandro Bernabei had continued to struggled, and eventually left the club on loan earlier this month to join SC Internacional in Brazil.

Celtic failed to sign a left-back in the winter though, to the disappointment of the supporters. It was viewed as a major mistake on the part of the club and a case of them not even matching the minimum expectations.

One left-back Celtic had been linked with is Hugo Bueno of Wolves. But a move failed to materialise in January. The Hoops might give it another go in the summer though.

As reported by TEAMtalk, a summer move to Celtic Park for the Bueno is still possible. The Wolves player himself was open to the experience of playing in Scotland. He is keen to get consistent playing time and the Hoops may present that opportunity. Signing a left-back is a priority for the Glasgow giants. But they will face competition from clubs in France and Spain.

Bueno has barely featured for Wolves this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 17 appearances and played only 524 minutes of football in total.

Clearly not enough for a player who is 21 years of age and needs to be taking the next step in his development right now. A club like Celtic might be the perfect place for him to do that.

Wolves were not believed to be keen on parting with the left-back in the winter as they did not want to lose squad depth. Let's see if their stance chances at the end of the season.
