Celtic have been linked with quite a few players in recent times but have not been very active this January. The only player they have signed is Nicolas Kuhn, with the German winger arriving in a £3 million move from Rapid Vienna. There have also been suggestions that the club are looking to add another left-back and a striker to their ranks this month.

Many fans would like to see the club sign a goalkeeper as well. Joe Hart's recent form has been questionable at best and he is also in the final six months of his contract at Celtic.

It is unlikely that Hart will be handed an extension. He will be turning 37 years of age in April and the Hoops will need to bring in a long-term successor sooner or later.

Interestingly, Celtic have emerged as bookmakers' favourites to sign Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool. The likes of Wolves, Bournemouth and Sheffield United are believed to be likely destinations as well.

Celtic have been linked with Kelleher for quite some time now. He is a very talented goalkeeper but has never managed to move ahead of Alisson in the Liverpool pecking order.

He seems to have established himself as Liverpool's cup goalkeeper this season. But someone as talented as him should be aiming higher.

Unfortunately for Kelleher, one would expect Alisson to remain Liverpool's number one for the foreseeable future. On the other hand, at 25 years of age, the Republic of Ireland needs to be playing regular football.

Thus, a Liverpool exit is very much a possibility. Celtic have been touted as a possible destination considering their uncertain goalkeeping situation. But the Premier League giants are expected to demand a significant transfer fee, which could make things difficult, possibly even impossible, for the Hoops.
