Celtic are expected to strengthen in the upcoming January transfer window. The club have struggled for performances and results throughout the course of the season. And other than Luis Palma, none of their summer signings have even been involved in the first-team on a regular basis. Hopefully, their recruitment will be much better come next month.

There are a number of positions where Celtic need to strengthen. Goalkeeper, striker and left-back are some which are brought up frequently by the supporters.

It looks like the club are aiming to strengthen in the middle of the park though. And a 20-year-old currently playing in Sweden has caught their eye.

As reported by Football Scotland, Celtic are considering a move for Romeo Amane. He has been watched closely by the Scottish club as they seek to add to their squad in January. Hacken are believed to be looking for a transfer fee around £3 million to part ways with the midfielder.

Amane has been a regular feature in the middle of the park for Hacken. Not only has he played in the Swedish top flight but he has gotten a bit of experience in the UEFA Europa League as well.

Amane might be a good prospect. The problem is, it seems like Celtic are not moving away from their transfer policy despite how things have turned out for their summer signing.

Amane is 20 years of age and does not have a ton of experience. He has never played at the international level either. He would be another 'project' signing if brought in.

That does not mean that things could not work out. The likes of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, Matt O'Riley and more were 'project' signings as well and they immediately became first-team superstars for Celtic.
