Celtic have not gotten much right over the past two years when it comes to transfers. And most were quick to write Adam Idah's chances off, when he was brought in on loan from Norwich City in the recent window window. The expectation was that the Hoops would sign a reliable goalscorer. The Republic of Ireland international had a less than impressive record in front of goal though.

It would be safe to say that Idah has impressed Celtic fans since arriving. Yes, there are still areas where he needs to improve. But overall, he has done better than most had expected.

Idah has five goals in a Celtic shirt already and brings something different to the table. He certainly looks like a better fit for Brendan Rodgers' tactics than Oh Hyeon-gyu and Kyogo.

Naturally, there have been calls for Idah to be signed permanently after his loan spell comes to an end. That might be easier said than done though.

Celtic consider Idah situation a 'disaster'

As reported by Football Insider, Norwich City will look to transfer Idah after his loan spell at Celtic. The Scottish club consider it a “disaster” that they do not have an option to buy in the deal.

To be honest, Celtic should have known that there was always the possibility of this happening. Idah has done well since coming in and that must have boosted not only his transfer value but also the interest in his signature.

It was intitally believed that a £3 million transfer fee would be enough to sign him permanently next summer. That might no longer be the case. That being said, it might be way too early to make too much of the situation. There is a lot of football left to be played this season and Idah still has a lot left to prove.
