It looks like Brendan Rodgers' coaching team at Celtic is set to be handed a blow in the near future. The Hoops have not been the most consistent this season in the first place, struggling to put in good performances on a regular basis. And now, it looks like one of their most highly-rated coaches is possibly heading for the exit door.

Harry Kewell, one of the greatest players in the history of Australian football, arrived at Celtic as a coach during Ange Postecoglou's run as manager of the Hoops. It was a move that made a ton of sense and seemed to have a positive impact on the team.

Many were surprised that Kewell remained at Celtic even when Postecoglou left for Tottenham Hotspur. But now, it looks like the Champions League winner could be inching towards the exit door as well.

Kewell has had managerial jobs in the past at clubs like Crawley Town, Notts County, Barnet and Oldham Athletic. His next role could be in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos.

As reported by Sponichi, Kewell has emerged as the top candidate to become Yokohama F. Marinos' new manager. It is believed that negotiations are progressing smoothly, and if a formal decision is made, he will succeed Kevin Muscat.

As reported by ESPN, Muscat has resigned as manager of Yokohama F. Marinos. He seems to be seeking his next challenge.

Interestingly, Postecoglou was the manager of Yokohama F. Marinos before joining Celtic. The Hoops signed Daizen Maeda and Tomoki Iwata from the J-League team as well.

Yokohama F. Marinos continued to enjoy success even afer Postecoglou left the club. Muscat did a great job replacing him. And now, it looks like they could have another Australian manager, if the move for Kewell does end up transpiring.
