Celtic finally look set to address one of their major issues. The Hoops' scoring rate has dropped significantly since Brendan Rodgers replaced Ange Postecoglou as manager of the club. Angeball has given way to a slower and more methodical style of football. And the results have not been the most positive, to say the least.

One major difference between last season and this one has been the form of Kyogo. The Japanese forward scored 34 goals in the previous campaign. He has only managed 11 in this one so far.

On the other hand, Oh Hyeon-gyu is still not ready to start games regularly for Celtic. He is also unavailable right now, as he is away on international duty for the AFC Asian Cup.

Naturally, Celtic were expected to sign a striker this month. And they seem close to signing one. Although, it is a move that will divide the opinion of the fans.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are closing in on a loan deal for Adam Idah. Rodgers is looking to sign the Norwich City striker for the rest of the season, with an option to sign him permanently. The player is keen for the chance to compete for silverware.

To be very honest, Idah does not have an impressive goalscoring record. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 17 goals in 115 appearances for Norwich City.

It goes without saying that he has a ton of potential and is highly rated. Otherwise, he would not get so many chances at Norwich City and for the Republic of Ireland national team.

Celtic cannot just continue signing players based on potential though. They need proven players. Unfortunately, Idah would not fall under that category based on his record.
