It is a move that might divide the opinion of the supporters, as Celtic close in on their first signing of the January transfer window. The Hoops were expected to strengthen significantly this month but the urgency around the situation seems to have decreased considerably following their Glasgow Derby win over the Rangers.

Even then, one cannot ignore how shaky the team had been looking not too long ago. They do need to add some quality to their squad in January.

While most would have expected the club to sign a striker or a left-back this month, it looks like the first course of action for the Hoops will be strengthening on the wings. An interesting route for sure, considering the recent returns of Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada.

A former Bayern Munich ace seems to be on his way to Parkhead. As tweeted out by Mark Hendry, Celtic expect to land Nicolas Kuhn this window.

Kuhn was one of the biggest talents in German football while coming through the youth ranks. He struggle to translate that potential into the senior game though.

Now, at 24 years of age, he finally seems to be finding his feet at Rapid Vienna. His good form at the Austrian club appears to have caught the eye of Celtic, who seem to be closing in on a move.

Kuhn would be a decent addition to this team, if he can continue to develop and improve. There is no question about his potential. He was at clubs like Bayern Munich, Ajax and RB Leipzig for a reason. It is a different thing fulfilling it though. If he can do that at Parkhead, then Celtic will have quite the player on their hands for sure.
