Celtic and Brighton & Hove Albion want 31-goal wonderkid
Celtic's transfer activity in recent years has left a lot to be desired. The club have focused heavily on signing youngsters, in hopes of unearthing the next big things in football. Unfortunately, that has hardly proven to be the case. In fact, one could argue that their best signing over the past two seasons was Aaron Mooy, who was brought in as a free agent and retired after playing in just one campaign for the Hoops.
One club who have earned plaudits for their recruitment in recent years, and rightfully so, are Brighton & Hove Albion. Everything they touch seems to turn to gold these days.
Their spectacular recruitment has allowed Brighton & Hove Albion to establish themselves in the top half of the Premier League table. And interestingly, it looks like they have a common transfer target with Celtic at the moment.
As reported by Football Insider, Celtic and Brighton & Hove Albion are among the clubs keeping an eye on Charlton Athletic wonderkid Patrick Casey. The forward scored 42 goals for the club’s Under-18 and Under-21 sides last season and has netted 31 goals in all competitions in the ongoing campaign so far. Union Saint-Gilloise and Club Brugge have been scouting him as well.

With those kind of numbers behind him, it is not hard to understand why Celtic might be interested in Casey. Although, it is worth mentioning that he has only made one senior appearance for Charlton Athletic so far.
One would not expect the youngster to come in and make an immediate impact in the Celtic first-team. Then again, you never know, it did not take Jeremie Frimpong long to become a starter for the Hoops.
All things considered, signing Casey would be considered as a coup on the part of Celtic. But it won't be easy to pull off.
